While I agree with Jason’s sentiments, it should not mean however we have to be blackmailed into putting up with a bad site because Google dictates that this is to be what we get.
Hence why I have learnt to ignore the ads. If you are quick on the buttons the ones at the top of the page do not load fast enough to be a problem.
Using Googles little tools like AdChoices, is a complete waste of time. I have every ad listed on their platform blocked, and yet I still see their ads, so there are no choices there.
Just as I was writing this a black box has appeared at the top. Telling me to “Activate Account”. Clearly an ad for something but it does not tell me anything at all about the product. No doubt I shall learn that when I “Confirm Account”, (In their dreams)
It does go to show that advertisements are a complete waste of time and money, if we end up ignoring them. They certainly have not achieved their objective of “reeling us in” and might as well not be there. This is probably why the TV adverts have assumed a near Soap Opera quality and length these days. Because people have become bored with the short one-liners of years gone by.
I have yet to buy anything from any advert. If I need something I look for it, and research it, no impulse buying here. My income has never been, nor never will be “Disposable”. I have worked too hard to earn it in the past. To end up just frittering it away on the latest Gizmo of very dubious quality.
I had better add I have used Warco products for well over 30 years, the quality is better than most and I have always had good service from them in the past. There was no Google back then and Warco were recommended by word of mouth. (Usual Disclaimer).

Gray,
