Electronic help please. I have a 1979 Mini, simple wiring, no MCU etc. I need to add a BUZZER to the indicator circuit. Currently when a direction is chosen, the dashboard indicator is energised by the +12 volt supply from that circuit with the earth return via the lamps of the opposite circuit. I assume this works as the indicator lamp is very low wattage compared to the 2 x 18watt bulbs and a 5watt repeater bulb.
The flasher unit is a simple 2 terminal unit (Made complicated as the replacement I use requires an earth [not shown] because the internal gubbins is some sort of electronic thing). It does not have a terminal for a repeater lamp.
I need to add a buzzer to the circuit which happens to be a polarised device. Can I simply add a couple of back to back diodes to give me a positive feed to the buzzer irrespective of the chosen direction.
I can’t add it to the flasher unit as there is about a constant 6.5 volt on the delivery side of the unit and the buzzer sounds all the time !.
