Hi,

Can anyone reccomend a good primer for bare metal, ferrous and non.

I have tried cellulose primer under enamel but cant get very good adhesion

Any help will be greatly appreciated

For non ferrous (and ferrous if you like) then etch primer is the way to go. I use the one Phoenix do – BQ23 if spraying use their thinners

depends on what you are painting and how you are applying it, but I would usually go for etch or epoxy as a primer.

Hi There

A couple of things, Self etching primer will etch your aibrush or paint spray.

Use a cheap one if spraying.

Phoenix do at least two etch primers, a single part in Grey and a two part in black.

The shelf life is short but I read that you can rejuvenate it by adding thinners.

David, they do a single part etch that only starts etching when dry so as long as you clean the airbrush out straight away it will be OK
