I am building a Stuart Victoria, would it be OK to ream the 1 inch bore in the cylinder as I have a Dormer 1 inch hand reamer (new) or should I bore it to size ? David

Seeing as you will have to bore it to a few thou less before reaming you may as well go the whole way and bore it, will be a better job.

As you get close to finished size make sure your boring bar is sharp and let the tool run through the bore several times at the same setting to work out any spring in the tool.

David, I would’nt recomend reaming a clinder bore, bore it tosay .ooi” from size then lap , reaming leaves the posibility of longitudinal corrigations. Ian S C
