I am making Brian Rupnow's Rockerblock engine.Unlike Brian I don't have access to laser cutting for the spaces to form spokes.I am drilling 1" holes instead. My question is dose it matter if I have an odd number or do they have to be even. There are two flywheels.

          Hello Frank,

I think odd looks better but you can convince yourself with a paper drawing, full size, and experiment before you cut metal. That way you can also get what looks to be a pleasing hole diameter as well

          Regards

          Brian

Provided they are equally spaced to keep the flywheel balanced you can have however many cutouts you like and whatever shape you like.
