My current project (when I'm not being distracted) is a single cylinder 2 stroke water-cooled engine. It requires a cast iron sleeve to be fitted in an ali cylinder jacket. The drawing calls for 2 different diameters and the liner to be secured in the jacket with Loctite 574, but needless to say I don't have any.

I do have Red Hylomar. Does the team think that this is a suitable substitute?

Shrink fit may also be an option, but I don't trust my measuring and machining ability for that approach, so it has been rejected.

Do you have any other Loctites? I usually use 648 on the IC engines ( including your Monitor) though some of the aero engines don't realy need any sealer as the lip at teh top is sandwiched between cylinder and head.

          What is the engine?
