      Hi Folks

I hope someone on here can help with a new fault my X1 mill has developed. I have had the mill about 8-9 years and only had one problem in all that time, which was the drive gear had the center ripped out because the key was only 3mm long ! Now when i turn on i have to turn the speed control up fully, and it then takes a second to wake up and move. The speed is also rather erratic. I have checked the motor, brushes OK, comutator looks OK, so not being very clued up on electronics i am now stumped. Could it be the pot, or is it more likley to be the board. I could just about afford a new pot, but if it's the board it will have to wait till funds permit, which could be a while as my state pension is c**p.

      Cheers Derek.

Hi Derek .Could be the pot needs cleaning, there is a spray which I use that can be found in electronic shops, or radio repair shops .See if you can scroung a squirt from some one .

          Best of luck Maurice

                Hi folks,

                I need some help.

The speed control on my Sieg X1 mill is misbehaving. If I switch to the forward or reverse position with the potentiometer switch in the Off position, the motor idles at a low rpm, with little torque. When the pot is switched on the speed control works as normal with good torque. The power light is not working and I know this is sold as a spare so it may be faulty. Anyone experienced this type of problem? Is it the board or the pot or both? or forward / reverse switch (which is also sold as a spare)

Any thoughts and help greatly appreciated.

                Thanks

                Conrad
