Have you somehow added a lot of threads to your bookmarks? Look in the green ribbon at the top and click bookmarks. If there are a lot of threads listed clear them out. I have no other suggestions, I have not seen anything that lets you select this feature for all threads.

May have accidentally ticked the box highlighted at the bottom of the editor:

When logged in turn off from Bookmarks as described by Martin.

Interesting, bookmarking ceased to work for me, when I looked at my bookmarks, there was loads of em. Deleted the whole lot off (one by one) and will see if it makes a difference.
