turret lathe

I have just got a taylor turret lathe no 536 ,and i am hoping that maybe someone on here may know something about them i had a look on tonys site but not a great deal of info i could realy do with a handbook any info would be great as i am rebuilding it.

​I think you might well be the pioneer on that lathe, if Tony Griffiths has little information on it there may well be little to be had. As for a handbook—-the availability of unicorn hair comes to mind.

Taylor capstan lathes were manufactured by Charles Taylor (Birmingham) Ltd of Bartholomew Street, Birmingham 5.

My serial number references indicate numbers in 1940 at 5991 through to 1964 of number 12729.

All the capstan lathes I have seen were all second operation and quite small. Cannot really assist any further.
