Hi Richard,

Jacobs chucks are usually fited on Jacobs tapers. They are removed with split wedges.

The chuck is just on a short taper maybe an inch or less long. It just comes off with a tap with a copper hammer.

I used a very old tin of vintage sign writers enamel paint I’ve been saving, you can’t get brush marks in it however hard you try, but it takes a week to touch dry. I’m still waiting…

Hi there , I have just picked up one of these , I noticed the comments about the gaurd …. Mine has a factory belt gaurd but …. I cannot see for the life of me how it was originally fitted . There is no brackets or evidence of brackets on the drill or gaurd !

Any ideas , or has anyone seen one with a gaurd ? All the pictures I find have the gaurd missing .
