Hi need advice please I am about to fit the wheels on but cannot see how to get them 180 deg,

I have tried using Centre punch marks from Centre of wheel and the 5/16 same using blanks.

I cannot get them dead on simplex book say within 32 inch mine are out on wheel diameter than that.

Is their a tried and tested way of doing this if so can you let me into secret as pulling my hair out,

      Thanks Ron

          Hi Ron,

I assume you mean at 90 degrees not 180?

Search for 'quartering wheels'. I did the wheels on my shunter using a temporary jig clamped to the mill machine table. A v-block for the axle and an angle plate and packing placed to allow for the diameter of the pins. I used a retainer, not forgetting to fit the axle boxes first!

If you have vascular dementia I would be very careful about working around power tools Ron

              All the best
