super 7 gearbox help

hi

im in the process of stripping the gearbox on my super 7 but need some help.

i can not get the selector handle off the large shaft at the front.i have released the shaft which can slide out, but the slot on the shaft catches on the gear on the selector and can not be fully withdrawn. i cant see how to get the two apart.

any help much appreciated.

Jason,

There is a taper pin through the boss of the 39 T tumbler gear that holds the gear in place on its own shaft in the lower side of the selector body. Push that out, release the short shaft and withdraw, the 39 T gear is then free from the slot in the input shaft housing and things should then clear.

did not see that sneaky bugger in there. will have to do that at work i think, as i cant get the taper pin out of the lower gear train neither.

hard to tell, but have been tapping pin from what i can make out as the smaller end.

The exploded view of the box shows the fat end of the pin being on the headstock side of the g/box.

And that of course is a silly observation as it will rotate on use! Doh !
