Stainless steel sheet

I am looking for SS sheet in 16 or 18swg but can only find sheet in metric thickness,can anyone tell me what i would need.

Hi Dave, 16 swg is just slightly bigger than 1.5mm, 18 swg is 1.2mm.

I will be shouted at for this as it is far from accurate, but…

 

16 swg is nearly 1/16″ which is nearly 1.6mm…

 

And remember that as the swg gets bigger the number gets smaller.

I’m in pedant mode this afternoon. As the swg gets larger, the number gets larger; it’s the thickness (or should that be thinness) that gets smaller.

Mmmm, on a SWG (gauge) the hole gets larger as the number decreases
