      Hey all.

I was just wondering whether this is a known issue.. I find it curious that the two main shows in the South East – Sandown Park and MEX Ally Pally are only one month apart in the year.

I like these shows and find them very useful and informative, often coming away with a bag full of metal. Surely the show organisers could see some sense in pushing themselves apart in terms of dates. Add to this that they spread Christmas meaning that pockets may not be as deep as other times of the year.

I understand it is mostly down to the dates the venue has available, I just find it frustrating.

On the way home from Sandown it is useful to know the thing you suddenly realise you forgot to get will be available at AP anyway. I even fitted in a model railway show last weekend and so didn't need to wait 5 extra days to get a bit of threaded rod I needed.

One influence is holidays. Apart from the skiing fraternity January is when people are more likely to be around. Some of the other shows in summer perhaps benefit from tourism as I for one have been to both Bristol and Taunton shows on the way to Devon.
