Sniffing Valve

Can anyone tell me witch way to fit sniffing Valve should it be you can blow through the bottom but cannot suck air please !!!!

The snifting should NOT let steam/air pass from the header to outside world, but from the outside to the header. If your loco is slide valve then you can blank the snifting valve off as a temporary expediant.

Thank you Luigi fitted it now but could not find anywhere about it

Just did not want to fit wrong way round and its hard to find out from Internet or books i have.

Going to take for pressure test tomorrow fingers crossed now
