sm2 age2 machines

What I'd like to find out is what was changed from sm2 to age2? Is it worth paying the extra for a machine with it fitted?

If using age2 is it possible to feed in programs from mastercam or similar? Any thoughts/opinions on sm2 or age2 as an operating system? I know they're older and only 2 axis but they'll do fine for what I need as a hobby user
