Recomend me a slitting saw to cut these fins

I need to cut fins into an Aluminium cyl. head the same as the one below.

Which type of slitting saw would be best, number of teeth ect.

The Saw will be 1/32 thickness

If you are not fussed by it being a few microns thicker then an 80mm x 32Tx0.8 whould do the trick with a nice big gullet that won't clog with swarf or a 3" x 28T x 1/32"

Hi , will one saw be able to cut the fins in four cyl. heads without loosing its sharp edge.

Hi David

Keep it lubricated with whatever you normally use on aluminium and if good quality HSS it will remain in good cutting order on most alloys. exception would be high silicone content types.
Flood or mist is sure to keep the gullets clear

Wow, that's a small engine, the head only appears to be about 10-12mm thick (unless I've got the wrong end of the stick)

About right for a 1/4scale Gypsy engine, just under 1" bore x 1.188" stroke for the four cylinders.

Well its taken a while but finally completed five cyl heads [ one spare]]

I found the best cut was made using a 'climb cut' I just tightened the jib strips slightly .

Also seemed to cut cleaner with a dry cut or very little fluid, less grab for some reason.

Not the most exciting job , just put some music on and got on with it .
