      Hi All,

Again this came in an auction lot, some sort of strain gauge instrument for concrete.

Came with lots of small buttons and 2 boxes containing what look like reference bars.

How would one use this please?

      Cheers, Martin

I have seen buttons similar to those placed each side of a crack in a concrete building. I guess they are used to monitor whether the crack is slowly widening.

You can look up ‘demec studs’ in a nearby search engine. That will tell you as much as you care to know.

I think one of the reference bars is made from Invar

I believe Mayes are still active and in the same place.
