MEW READERS’ TIPS – A Change in the Rules.

I've noticed over the last year that a greater and greater proportion of entries for the Readers' Tips in MEW have been coming from the same, relatively small, group of people!

To encourage more entries from other readers the rules have changed so that:

"Please note that the first prize of Chester Vouchers is only available to UK readers. You can make multiple entries, but we reserve the right not to award repeat prizes to the same person in order to encourage new entrants. All prizes are at the discretion of the Editor."

This doesn't mean past winners can't enter again, but we will be trying to choose winning tips from readers who haven't entered or won before.

So, if you haven't sent in a tip before, please consider doing so, because it's about time you won!

Ideally write me a couple of hundred words to describe your tip and include a two or three photos.

To carry on from the previous message, I have quite a of 'multiple entry tips' and things like tips that are too long or too short to win a prize, but are worth using.

I am looking into ways of using these in a future tips and gadgets special, like the popular issue we had a year or two ago.

Why are the Chester vouchers for UK residents only? Overseas contributors might be prepared to pay the extra postage if they could use the voucher to make the purchase.

Fundamentally because Chester's hobby arm only serve the UK market, and partly because if an Australian won, after the postage charges they wouldn't really be any better off after the shipping charges.

I have sent a fair few runner up prizes to Australia but since the demise of MyHobbyStore I have very few suitable items left.

hmm, i'd prefer something tool-like (or voucher towards tools) myself, as a prize rather than a discount for something i'd buy anyway.

Michael i was thinking about those outsude the UK as a subs discount would only need a code Sent by email to the recipient and thus no postage expenses .

The feature is sponsored by Chester who provide the vouchers, there are also practicalities with subs vouchers for existing subscribers as stopping and starting can mess up some types of payment.
