How big can you go?

How big a boring bar can you use on a Myford Super 7? 8mm shank maybe 12mm 1/2″ at a push?
How about an inch? This one must be at least that if not bigger.

As good example for Dave as to why someone may want to use larger than 12mm tooling on a small lathe.

Not having a Myford I can’t answer what is the biggest but on the 280 I have used upto 28mm dia bars, only seem to have the 25mm one in shot.

I do have a bigger between ctrs bar @ 35mm

Examples, but not good ones!  Valid technique, but not relevant to Rowen’s endeavour!   He’s interested in mounting 12mm tools in a QCTP, not tools mounted on the saddle.

Dave that is why my first image shows a tool held using a toolpost. I’ve used a similar clamping arrangement with the Dickson QCTP in the past when I did not have a 4-way for the previous lathe.
