        Hi all.

I’ve been given an old lathe that is in poor order and was wondering if anyone knew the model and if it was worth anything. I was wondering if it was scrap or worth anything and even worth rebuilding or trying to rebuild.

Thanks in advice for the help.

Well it's better to click on the camera icon on the reply and then click on the image and it will display in the listing.

Anyway it looks a bit Drumond like and more shots are needed to see what it might be worth including any parts that came with it.

I would say it's a Drummond Round bed lathe.

Take a look at the following link:

Yeah I agree looks very similar. It's in a bad way the bearings are shot. I'll try get a few better pictures tomorrow and upload them.

Thanks for your help so far!

                    David,

Here is my 'restoration project' example for comparison:

I've considered one of those Michael so long as it has the banjo but I would hope for headstock bearings as well, not running in plain cast iron. I've not seen anything suitable when I have looked.

I have enough problems anyway. A decent ML10 to put together and sell, a precision Boley with good slides and some attention needed to bearing adjustment and by the look of it a mini lathe to sell as I have found something more suitable for a 2nd lathe. From 2 Pulta's I should get 2 decent ones, I thought it might be one and one OK one.

                      John
