Evening everyone, my name is Alex and i'm new to this forum.

I am interested in all sorts of fabrication and machining and bits and that interest had led me here. Last year i decided to go back to college and enrol on a machine practices course at CAVC. It lasted for a few months until it was called off due to COVID, but it was enough time for me to get the bug so i've decided to try the self teaching route.

I bought and played around with a mini lathe for a while and built on what i had learned at college, but found having used larger machines it was very limited so i purchased something bigger.

I'm now in the process of getting to know the machine and learning as i go along basically.

There's a Google search box on the home page which is very good at finding existing threads on different topics.

Otherwise, just start a thread under 'general questions'.

Hi Chris. I'm a bicycle mechanic by trade and i own a small bike shop in Cardiff, so mainly bits related to that.
