Ground flat stock supplier ?

Can anyone please suggest a source of accurate 1/8" steel plate (not 3mm), either G.F.S. (expensive) or some other description which fits the bill. I'm looking for enough to make four bolting plates, each about 21/2" x 31/2" . Slightly thicker plate capable of being surface ground to thickness would also be acceptable.

You won't easily find 1/8" plate but Bright Mild steel flat bar is still readily available in imperial so you could use 2 1/2" x 1/8" this is likely to be withing a thou or so if thats good enough.

Failing that most of the ME suppliers will have gauge plate (GFS) M-machine have both

Ken M machines prices are quite ..er shall i put it politely expensive sheffield gauge plate sell entire 18 inch lengths for the same price as the 9 inches m machine are asking

I use RS, as they are cheaper than cromwell and have it in stock (at head office).

Indeed – and I would be quite uneasy about buying from anyone who seems to think that 1/2 sq ft is the same as 6×6"!
