Hi Jason,

Your result was far higher than I expected. I did think the larger radius of your bearing would make it easier to turn but it does not seem to be the case. The 26 times that you obtained is just over the Square of my value. If there was more data it might be possible to draw a graph and see if any interim sizes could be read off the graph.

However I doubt neither of us has that much time on our hands.

Although once moving the bearing I tested seemed to run at a steady speed, if it were stiction alone then you would have thought speed would pick up?

Not sure I agree Jason, I would have expected that as soon as the load overcame the initial stiction you would get a brief acceleration until the rolling friction increased to equal the load and from that point on the speed would be a constant with friction in equilibrium with the load.
