I woke up this morning and Firefox browser on win 7 had automatically updated and now it is crashing every few minutes , any one else have the problem or a fix for it.?

Try a "Firefox refresh" download. Fixes many problems without losing your settings etc.

I'm using the latest Firefox on W10 no probs.

Just tried that and so far it hasnt crashed . Also downloaded the Firefox Quantum new browser Beta version due to be released next month. It seems an awful lot faster when compared side by side with the normal firefox. Only problem with it being a beta version it seems to be giving security warnings for alot of sites..

I got a Linux Firefox upgrade on Tuesday that crashed a couple of times. It upgraded again twice yesterday and seems OK again. Could be a coincidence, but Firefox is usually very stable. I can't comment on Windows as I haven't used it for a few days.

I'm on 56.0. There are some unresolved bugs, note the last one:

• Startup crash with RelevantKnowledge adware installed. Firefox Support has helpful instructions to remove it.

• Due to a bug in Mac OS X High Sierra, fullscreen mode has some issues

• Users running Firefox for Windows over a Remote Desktop Connection (RDP) may find that audio playback is disabled due to increased security restrictions. Learn how to mitigate this issue until it is corrected in an upcoming release

• Startup crashes with 64-bit Firefox on Windows 7, for users of Lenovo's "OneKey Theater" software for IdeaPad laptops. To fix this crash, please re-install 32-bit Firefox.

If I download a good browser I always stash a copy away somewhere like my backup drive

Then if it updates a sneaky on me I can uninstall it and reload the older version
