I have just collected my Knurling tool, Lathe spindle drifts and boring bar holder from CBS engineering who has treated them to chemical blacking. It looks great just like bought items.
David
I note that CBS Engineering use the hot caustic soda process for blacking mild steel, one of the two consistent methods for blacking.
For anyone interested I feel that knowledge of this company is very useful.
Thanks
JA
Caustic black can be done at home, but it is a bit messy and involves some pretty corrosive chemicals.
