I'm about to spend more than I can afford on a 626 milling machine and I want to fit a power feed to the x axis. I'm considering a cheap and cheerful "handbag" style one, lots available at around £140. Any advice, comments etc from anyone who has tried one would be most welcome.

      Thanks, William.

Something to watch out for is that most of the ones I have seen need a 110v supply so the cost of a transformer will be a factor to add on.

thought about it for my Bridgeport but was quoted around the £400 mark so gave up…..

            a lot need a good 12-24 volt supply……

then heard a few Chinese copies have had probs……

so I'm commited to the mechanical gearbox that came with the machine…..

now got it working perf….so not gonna bother….
