Hello everybody,
I am from Germany and a friend has a Myford S7 MKI.
He has the problem with a permanent leaking spindle bearing (front).
Even if the lathe is not in use and the flow-control screw is closed there is a small oil flow out of the reservoir and flows under the bed and bulids a small puddle.

In principle, the system seems to be working fine.
When I open the drip oiler using the regulating screw, oil enters the glazed chamber depending on the angle at which the screw is turned; the flow to the spindle bearing also seems to be working, as oil seeps out between the bearing sleeve and the spindle when the machine is running.
He thinks to remove the brass body and, whilst it’s out, try to match or grind down the cone on the adjusting screw to the mating cone on the brass body.
However, this is absolutely out of the question whilst it’s fitted, because grinding paste residue in a plain bearing is not acceptable – or rather, an absolute disaster…
But I’ve no idea how to remove the brass body without damaging it. It must be press-fitted, right?
Does any of you have an idea how to get brass body out without damaging it?
Does anybody have a technical drawing of the brass body?
Many thanks and bes regards
Werner
