Hi all, I’m semi retired from 50 years in engineering. Built steam locos in my younger days and recently acquired a mostly built Jubilee class Galatea that needs a lot of remedial work. As it happens I was visiting a local club for advise, whilst there I met a old work friend not seen for 25 years. He’s not a modeller. He was visiting to pass on his late father’s loco. I am now the owner of a very well made Firefly 5″ with all the running gear cylinders and chassis beautifully made with all the brass for cab and tanks only requiring a boiler. Firstly I will be posting questions for the knowledgeable about the Allcock loco as I’ve not been involved with locos for nearly 40 years.
