Hi everyone,

I was looking for another project for my youngest grandson (17) and came across this site.

you can download or print the drawings and instructions for loads of projects he has selected the wobble plate engine.

There is also some of LBSC drawings here think they must be out of copyright.as seem to be the original Ayesha articles.

Anyway just a grandad helping a budding ME and with no connection or financial interest in this site.

We own the copyright to virtually all LBSC stuff.

Hi Dick

Am I getting a slap on the wrist !! or what. who are you to pontificate one of the posters here I know of is into shotguns in a big way. Also there are a gazillion sites with this knowledge including some of the Model Egineering forums. so please stop throwing your toys out of the pram.

They can come, whomever after me but all they will find is a grumpy old man in his workshop.

Lets get back to the thread everyone and if you want a free plan of a small engine try it.

And OH what about the guy who wants people on this forum to make what looks like me to be a lethal weapon also posting on others..

Have a nice day, me I will be in the workshop enjoying myself untill they come and take me away.

When im not making steam engines I like to make gunpowder to blow things up…all info thanks to the tinterweb (max 40g – for research purposes only ofcourse!)

Which reminds me of an Irish colleague of mine many years ago we were sitting in the staff room and I had just purchased a property with a high row of overgrown lleandiae and said that I had just got a mini digger in to yank the stumps out he said and I think I can still quote almost verbatum.

Oh we used to go down to the local quarry and pinch some dynamite then blow the B*****s up worked everytime. saved a lot of money.

Then he realised my background as I had seen men splashed all over walls and he never spoke to me again.

That Thailand guy has been on the net for ages

Thailand might be like Taiwan, no copyright laws

You could pick up a Rolex for $50 in Taiwan and all sorts of publications for a dollar a pop.

its actually fun to make your own pyrotechnics (for research purposes only!!) but dont leave a half full jar of black powder under the bench, lid off then start to fettle a 5" minx loco frame with your angle-grinder! You only do it once! boy is it a shocker!!

Hi Milligan,

Yes a very good site with lots of ideas for future builds. As David tells us copyright is an issue to be considered on some sets of drawings, but at least you can see what it is you wish to build on site. This is something which is very useful as most mags do not give photos of finished models except very grainy ones in their online shop and also means you do not need to buy umpteen backnumbers before you decide. With reference to the firearms, read it properly and you will see that they are INERT or AIRSOFT and it is clearly stated that they are not capable of even chambering a live round. Firearm modelling is as relevant as any other kind of modelling and keeps skills alive that this country depended on in 1939/1945 (Sten/Enfield) just as we needed engineers to build defensive systems. Hi Bob,

What surprises me the most is that you have only just come across this site. There are references to it across most of the ME modelling websites and forums, I've been enjoying it, especially the Elmer's Engine plans, for some years, I don't bother with much of the other plans whether it be weapons or boats etc – they just don't interest me.

I confess I do not often trawl the internet it was only when looking at the elmer site spotted a link and as mike is staying for a few days and has finished his Stirling we started looking around for a plan.

noticed there was firearm stuff but did not pay much attention.

A good bit of the manufacture of the Sten gun was done by model engineers in their home workshop, I think there may have been some information about some of the construction in ME during the war. Ian S C

Apparently sten guns were deadly…to any companions of the user

My dad said that on auto it was impossible to stop it pulling to the right and they only ever got used on single shot.

On those occasions a user forgot to check it was on single and not auto…there were some seriously hairy moments for Britsh Army personnel

Additionally, that flailing bolt handle would damage any stray fingers instantly.

Springbock It was a gentle reminder. some moons ago there was a hoohar in M.E. over a an advert for a cd which showed you how to make a 0.22" Gatling. the ad was later dropped.
