Ah yes, one of the endless spam emails that come to our cub officers via the club website contact addresses.
Plus of course the "Your website looks very pretty but it is not ranking at the top of the world rankings alongside Barbie and Taylor Swift. We specialise……"

Following the hack n the news today no doubt the entire electoral register will now get "It seems you like to vote. We can help you vote faster and more often….."

It could start to get a lot worse:

Here’s a brief quote from ITV News

” The UK's elections watchdog has been hacked by "hostile actors" who gained access to electoral registers, meaning the personal information of millions of voters could have been stolen. “

The Electoral Commission should have been aware of the risk and better prepared.

Using DarkSpace for instance, a Cambridge spin out.

There’s often a big gap between should, and was

… and it’s the was that causes us problems !

The EC has admitted that, but it says something for the skill of the attackers that their actions were so well hidden.

If you want a really serious data breach try the BBC site for the NI police oups.

                      Just seen it, Dave:

The Police Service of Northern Ireland has mistakenly released the names and work locations of its entire workforce. The data breach was not the result of a cyber attack but “simple human error”. […]

                      dont know

perhaps the last three words that I quoted should be punctuated differently

                      “simple human” error
