      Hi folks

I went to the Harrogate show about 6 to 8 years ago, and on display was a 5'' BR class EM1/ class 76 electric loco. I had no camera with me and cannot remember any details displayed, if any. Anyone know anything about it? Age, builder, current status, and even better, have or point me to some pictures? Any help warmly welcomed. Someone I know is determined to build one too, 'some day'! I have the bogie side frame material for when he's ready! Cheers folks.

No idea about model, but there are full size ones at Manchester science museum and Butterly. Don't be tempted to copy the strange arrangement whereby the bogies were directly linked to each other, reported to give bad riding.

Pops the full size ones appear to be class 77 EM2. Very similar but Coco

                  Hi everyone,

much obliged for the answers received already. I do know where the preserved ones are, and am disturbed to hear last year that the cab from 38 in MOSI is to be disposed of, being it is not felt relevant to Manchester history. The very idea! Not scrapped although it's Manchester council we're talking about so I would not put it past them.

I used to work on these BITD so can confirm the bad riding, to a degree'; the faster they went, the better they got- until sideframes met body frame. The modern class 70 is much, much worse.

Keep the info coming please folks! Cheers'n'beers.

Not in my photos from around 2015, I'm afraid.
