        On another forum there is a discussion about reforming 3D printed blobs into rivet heads using cup burs like this.

        I'm wondering how they are made. If it were say 2 inches diameter I could imagine cutting, hardening, grinding but these things are barely 1mm diameter.

            A little disappointed that nobody has taken up this challenge.

            My best guess is to bang them onto some kind of male die that has been made by EDM using perhaps a sharp blade one tooth at a time. Harden after forming and not bother to try any secondary sharpening.

              Most probably stamped out and hardened, being jewellery related they are only going to be used on silver and gold, not hardened tool steel.

                      Sounds like a good tool for rounding the ends off on small Ba threads once a bolt has been cut to length.
