Hello Everybody
Has anybody built a Mastiff Engine but changed the bush bearings for ball bearingsI picked up an engine of ebay but the crankshaft and camshaft bearibngs have been replaced by ball bearings.
While looking at the engine I could not find any oil ways to feed the bush bearings
This has now caused quite a headache, It ha been modified by drilling a hole in the side of the crankcase and fitting the oil pressure release valve.
The crankshaft has been drilled so I can feed oil through it
My main idea is to drill the oil ways slightly offset so ass to feed the ball races on the cam shaft and the front ball races next to the flywheel, the machine a rear bearing out of phosfor bronze and drill a feed hole into that and then into
the crankshaft
My only other thought was to feed 2 spray heads into the top cover this would fill the crankcase with a mist and hence lubricate every thing.
Any advice or help would be gratefully received
I can post pics if anybody wants to see what Im working with
Im also interested in any other mastiff mods and if any cooling system mods or fitted a radiator water pump system has anybody got a spare carb.
Thanks Neil
