Advice Please – Paint for 5″ Gauge Loco

Morning All. I am nearing the point with my 5" Sweet Pea build where I will have to start painting it – joy. I am OK on the spray gun & air brush front but would like some advice about suitable paints.

I used Paragon Paints from Stationary Engine Parts with great success on my workshop machinery but their products are only sold in relatively large tins and with fairly high postage costs. I also read somewhere that it might not be suitable for small scale.

I would welcome any advice or suggestions. Thank you. Nick

I haven't read it, but this book looks the be the "ticket".

Yes, essential read. Phoenix Precision Paints are good but their web site is awful!

Thank you all for the advice – much appreciated. I have alreday read the book thank you and will now head off to buy soem paint. I agree with you Russell about the Precision Paints Website being awful! Nick
