browsing through a well known tool supplier on ebay

I noticed that some items had a over inflated BIN

price for example 6 inch Indian made rotary table over £900

set of turning tools for myford over £500 etc

is there a reason or is it a mistake

      Best Wishes Martin

          Martin

Sometimes the 'Buy Now' prices on ebay are set to a what appears to be a silly amount when the supplier doesn't have any stock left and is awaiting delivery of new items. It means that the listing doesn't have to be closed down and then reset when the new stock comes in. The only reason I know this is I flagged up a silly price to a seller and that was the explanation given.

          Cheers

          Martin

Setting up a new listing can be a PITA on ebay, and if you have a variable connection it can turn a ten minute job into a two hour nightmare

clicking "relist item" is a doddle, edit the price, click confirm, and wait for new stock

              Hi There

Leave it running and the number of people who purchased will remain.

Say 18 people have purchased, if you relist, I don't think that will carry through so number of people will be zero.

Leave it running at high price, the 18 remain although no one in their right mind would purchase.

              regards David

Mmm..also you can show “save xxxx price slashed to yy”…but yes the exploit ebays own rules thing looks false but perfectly “honest”..may be a note to that effect would be honest..but there you go
