Who’s going to Harrogate

Hi All,
I was wondering if it would be a good idea for people attending the Harrogate exhibition to say when they are going. It would be nice to put faces to the names of people you talk to on this forum.
I will probably going on the Friday.

My usual plan is to be there when the doors open on the Saturday morning, but not yet certain I have the social and domestics sorted!

probably saturday with sons and "grandad". Sunday for pleasure. SWMBO has not yet approved these plans though!

I found Friday you needed big elbows and thick clothing 'cos it was packed.

I've been making the pilgrimage ever since the first Harrogate event and as usual I will be there on Friday with the elbow and armour plate brigade, this year with my neighbour Andrew who is providing both transport and lunch.

How we all hope to recognise each other in the mob is beyong me, I for one will not be carrying a badge or balloon even which says 'Me' so this post might still leave us wondering who we all are afterwards!

I'm planning on going Saturday, but as I'm still recovering from a broken ankle I'm not sure how easy it's going to be. I certainly don't fancy crowds while on crutches

From past experiences at Harrogate and the Midlands shows it gets a lot quieter around 3pm. If you're wondering why I'd bother while on crutches it's because we make a weekend of it and the hotel is already booked. Might have the wife in tow though so it might be a flying visit. I can just imagine the comments "Have you seen enough yet?".

I'll be easy to spot on crutches.

With me being a newbie I will probably learn loads from just watching, looking and listening.

You will easily spot me as I will be the guy looking like a confused and startled rabbit in headlights.

I'd forgotten it was on until I saw this thread ten minutes ago – thanks Les. Just booked two tickets online, one for me and one for my lady. Its a long way for us to travel so she is booking the hotel as I type. I have twisted her arm by promising a blow out at Bettys tea room.

Our show day will be Sunday. You will recognize me as I look just like a model engineer – old, grey, and grizzled.

We've booked a week in the dales so the Sunday will be my first visit to the Harrogate show. Looking forward to it

It's half way between Lands End and Thursoe – if you get lost just head for Kirkby Overflow and ask for directions.

I am going on Sunday I think, just a short trip from York for me.

A load of us going from the Crewe, and Hartford "Men in Sheds". We will be there on the Saturday. For the benefit of those going for the first time, a few of us old timers meet near the big window opposite the main entrance at around 12 noon. Come and say hello to a beige baseball cap topping a pair of specs and a beard.(me).

Right! After several months of careful planning, it looks like I'll be there on the Saturday, probably in heavy disguise.

Apparently I'll get a red badge. I'm happy to chat, as long as I get half a chance to see the exhibition as well

Saturday all being well but still struggling with bruised kidneys at the moment, hopefully better for Saturday.

Spending most of this week taking pop bottles back to get a bit of spending money.

In my book is the best show of the year. Hard to put a finger on it but it has a sense of atmosphere that is lacking at other shows.
