Unfamiliar leadscrew,

Hi chaps,

I need to ask what might be considered a realy stupid question,

I have just aquired a nice super7 with gearbox and automatic

cross slide,I note that the leadscrew has a slot along its

length,What is the purpose of this,???,Thanks,

It’s for the power cross feed.
