I have been making models of various types and sizes my whole life, at 12 years old it was card and balsa stock cars.

in my 20's I had progressed to live steam with a scratch built traction engine.

in my 50's I had deviated to IC engines with a ride-on jeep for the grandkids.

Now heading for my 70's I am building my perfect disability scooter, at present IC powered but I want to convert it to battery power.

So that is me in a nutshell, I arrived here to see if I can find any information about a model mill engine I have inherited. I will post about it in the Q&A section.

Very good Rog – but I suspect some Council busybody is going to want you to license your "scooter"

(or maybe it's smaller than it looks?)

          Regards,

A Scammell Poineer as a scooter!

              FANTASTIC!

Probably circvumvents the speed restrictions, but needs lights to look realy realistic (Especially since it will probably have to usae the road rather than the footpath )

It will be interesting to see how it is perceived by the powers that be! I have headlights and tail light sorted, still trying to find side marker lights for the cab.

Could the maximum permitted unladen weight of 150kg prove to be a problem?

                      I mean that's not a problem, it's a project.

To me it's a very clear justification to learn to weld Alu and build a space-frame chassis for the existing build.

The weight could indeed be a problem this is no featherweight! …. can a disabled buggy pull a trailor load of batteries? cheeky

Thanks for the link by the way.

Some great models shown in your pictures. I for one would be interested in more detail& updates on the Scammell "carriage"

                          regards
