If you square off your 2" block without the table support you may find that the block ends up anything but square.
As the tool advances along the work and the ram travels further out from the body of the machine the tendency will be for the table to get forced down resulting in a tapered cut.
As the 10m is designed to cut with a steady you may also risk damaging the machine, especially if you have a "dig in"
Why dont you want to use the support?
I know mine can sometime be sticky to move but nothing that a clout or two with a hide mallet wont cure
