I have a friend who's building a 71/4" Loco and he's asked me to ask the following ?

Sealing piston valve liners in cylinder:- not sure if Loctite will stand the temperature th e liners are a push fit wondered if anyone as found an alternative material silicone sounds good but concerned it will wipe off as the liner is pushed into position.

I'm sure there is someone out their with the answer.

        Thanks

        Stew

If he's really sealing not fixing then high temperature silicone as used for engine gaskets should be fine.

If he's really fixing, then high temperature retainer.
