Just had a while with no particular job to do and made a couple of bits. first I made new plates for off hand grinder to aid tool holding and stop wear and made an adjustable stop for vice. See pictures.

many years ago I was given such a 'magic' device

a real + round 2IT ! however its magic has declined almost to zero over the years – maybe a suitable Xmas present to make?

I made a grinding rest for my bench grinder,a somewhat different design,because I tend to use the side of the wheel rather than the front [which has more hops in it than a pint of bitter ] I can tilt the rest to suit both sides of the wheel and by fitting a simple guide I can grind compound angles. I can also use the front of the wheel,if need be and also have vertical movement of the rest. It,s nothing fancy,but it works !

One of these days I must get around to making a proper rest,something that looks the part,anyway,but for now ———————-Twill do !

Not sure about the vise stop,can you explain its purpose ?

Ah yes, the tuitness tends to stop going round as teh years pass.

Larry It just an adjustable stop where you can put a piece into a vice etc push it up to the stop and drill, mill or other operation and replete the operation on other end or other piece without having to set up every time. It is fastened down by T nut and top piece is adjustable by clamp on diameter.
