Replacement feed chart needed.

Hi Again

I recently bought a Harrison M300. The feed chart as can be seen is way past its best and is unreadable at the bottom third.

Can anybody advise where I could get a replacement, According to Harrison the plates are obsolete.

I have emailed Dianne Carny about the possibility of having one printed ( price dependant )

Before I can even consider attempting to produce a replacement I need to have the missing information to hand. Would any of you guys be able to send me a scan or photo of your own plate so that I can at least have the information.

Have you joined the Harrison Lathe yahoo group? There is almost certainly a copy on their files . There are oil resistant laser printer sheets for making labels so you can create a version in the software of your choice. The follow up to this is to print it A3 and hang it up behind the lathe – so much easier than peering down at those tiny numbers.

You can get the laser labels in silver polyester. which would give agood match. I canm vouch for their durability as we used them to hazard label bottles of cleaning fluids when my wife had a carpet cleaner hire business, and they lasted for ages with repeated refilling, split chemicals and customer use.

Did this on my laser the other week.

 

Silver metallic plastic on a black back ground, the laser burns the silver away.

You can get this stuff in all colours and silver and gold metallics.

 

How about this for unique ?

 

 

It was shrunk down from a larger one and because it's smaller the Merlin logo has become very fussy, the larger one was far better but i was making it fit an existing piece of laminate.

Those laser charts are pretty damn impresive however beyond my capability or knowledge.

Kwil has very kindly offered to scan his chart and mail it to me when he has chance which is very much appreciated.

I may end up with the printed out sheet stuck on the wall as Bazyle suggests by the looks of things.

As usual it is amazing to see the amount of knowledge and assistance provided by this site.

Inkjet printer output laminated into those plastic sheet thingies makes a very effective label or chart. Plenty durable enough to fix to the machine.

Certainly good enough to be an improved replacement for the standard effort which, in comparison with the brass embossed (or even cast) and paint versions of yesteryear are pretty manky. Injet lets you use colour which ought to be a great help is seeing what's what. The laminators sold for, approximately, the modern equivalent of thruppence three farthing by Lidl, Aldi, Maplin et al are very effective and more than up for this kind of job.

No idea Martin, could be but you wouldn't be able to solder to it as that's how the laser works.

 

There have been some good improvements in plastics for the sign industry in recent times.

you can now get this stuff that's reversable in that the front is smooth clear acrylic and the back is silvered and when you reverse engrave on it you remove the silvering.

You then spray the back say black and get black lettering on silver but a smooth front that protects the engraving.
