Price of A Mk2 Clarkson cutter grinder.

Hello,

I noticed that there is one listed in the classifieds for £990, Browsing the Home Workshop for sale ads showed the same machine for £790. I was looking for a specific Clarkson item on Ebay and came across the same machine again, at a starting price of £1128.70 (no bids so far!).

I had enquired of the seller, as to which asking price was correct (£990 0r £790), but no response. I then spotted the Ebay listing. I quite understand that a seller is at liberty to ask any price he wishes for an item, however I am a little surprised at the range of prices being asked.

Be careful.

All three ads may be from the same seller.

But then again only one ad may be the “real” one and the other two scammers lifting the ‘photos and info!!!!

I have previously reported an ad for a Myford 254s lathe, on the Home Workshop Site, which was clearly copied from elsewhere. It was removed.

Some of the odd prices seen on ebay are due to the platform automatically adding buyer “protection” fees to whatever the seller asks for their item. Approx 13% I believe so £990 direct sale may well equate to £1128+ on the platform.
