I’m a bit confused over the description of facing the eccentric straps in ME 4416 p616.

 

Photo 51 appears to show the straps mounted on the eccentric sheath.

 

The text describes the process. “I made four 4mm bushes and using these as washers the strap was clamped to a purpose made mandrel”

 

How do you use four 4mm bushes as washers to provide the required clamp?

Perhaps I didn’t explain that bit very well.

 

Let me have another go.

 

In Pic 51 the purpose made mandrell is just the bar end left over from when I made the sheath, any bit of bar will do to make it, you just turn the bar over size a little so that the straps clamp down on it. The bushes used as washers under the clamp bolts, are just guides to indicate when you’ve taken enough off.
