The chap in the unit next to mine does CCTV and I wrestled an old pan & tilt head off him for £120 (I think they were about 10 times that when new).

It comes with its psu/control unit.

I’m thinking… stick it on a forward – back axis and whop a grinder in front of it and it might be the start of a CNC grinder.

I got the camera as well which is an old CCD unit but the lens is nice.

      Thoughts?   Alternate uses?

      Cheers,

      Wilson.

Probably best used for its original purpose.

          Where’s your spirit of adventure ?  🙂

This is a quality piece of motion control equipment.

I’m most of the way through making a 5 axis cnc grinder and if I’d had this at the start it would’ve saved me a lot of bother.

TBF it’d have made the machine a lot bigger but I think I’d have sacrificed footprint for the bump up in stiffness.

          This is the controller.

It has pan & tilt as expected plus zoom, focus & iris control so it has 5 proportional channels plus another 5 boolean channels.

So that’s 5 motion axes plus 5 more potential on/off options.

Looks like you’re onto a winner with that idea, Wilson
