When posting pics just remember to hit return to get onto a new line before typing.
Another method is to write the text without pictures, do <shift return> twice to leave a gap where you want a picture then go back at the end to insert the pictures. This makes it easier to read and edit your text without having to keep scrolling past the pictures as you edit the text.

I hope you got one of the good ones. It seems that their quality has "taken a turn in the road" recently.

              Here's one guy's story:

At least this should give you an idea what to look for.

the machine is 8 years old so hope it is a good one I think the guy on the video is hoping a lot to hold .001" on a diameter back in the late 70s early 80s the firm I worked for bought a cnc mill we wanted to mill two bores around 3" dia to hold +- .002 on a casting no problem using the plug gauges to check but using aclock to check concitricty it ran out at 12 3 6 and 9 occlock on change of direction of up to .005 using a 1" carbide cutter to get over this we used a 2" cutter on a small circle solved the problem also temp. comes into play on big bed mills with the coloum moving as the machine warms up our jig bores were in temp controlled room for this reason

don't think I will have a problem making parts for my models just glad the machine is in and working

                    Hi Geoff,

I've had my Tormach for about four years and have found it to be great. I have also got the Rapid Turn attachment and 4th Axis with it. Initially I found the Rapid Turn a bit of a faff and inadequate as far as tool holding went but I have fitted gang tooling to it and it has made it very useful for making small batches of turned components. I have posted quite a few videos on Youtube and am in process of making another video about the Rapid Turn with gang tooling within the next week or so. Look up my channel.

If I can be of any help let me know.

P.S I hope it came with plenty of equipment.

                    Bob

He was trying to do what Tormach told him the mill could do prior to it's purchase, it's irrelevant WHAT he was trying to do, the point is they refunded him because they lied about the capabilities of their machines.
