      p7190005.jpgp7190004.jpgHello

I have a couple of lathe fittings, which I think are from a Colchester lathe.

they look as if they attach to the bed somehow, and slide along it.

The tapered shaft is bored but not all the way through – so I guess it is for a handle rather than to lock it in place.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. I hope the pics help.

      Many thanks

      John

It looks like the fitting for attaching the arm for the taper turning attachment on a Colchester lathe

Taper or copy turning attachment? A pure guess…

It is the bed anchor for the Colchester style taper turning attachment. I don't know if different models of Colchester lathes used a different part but it would appear to be identical to the ones that I have on my Master 2500 lathes.

Very different to the bracket on my Chipmaster TT attachment, which secures to the back of the bed. But as said above the system may vary between models, so I am not disagreeing.

                    Thanks all.

Looks like a taper turning anchor as you say. They were probably used in pairs whivh is why I have two of them.

Pity I don't have the rest of it!

here is a pic I found on google that looks very similar.
