Been converting my ML7 from the original 1/3hp motor to a half hp 3 phase Brooks Crompton powered from a VFD.
Finished the installation and today used the lathe to make some pipe fittings for an oil cooler.
Couldn’t believe how smoothly and quietly it now runs, parting off my fittings with no vibration whatsoever.
Highly recommended conversion, should have done it years ago!

Finland maybe? (just kidding – lots of Finnish words and names seem to have two a's on the end. The thread name made me think of an old co-worker of mine , his family was Finnish, last name was Maenpaa.)
