Minnie Traction – Hornplate

More confusion today.

The drawings show a drilling template layout on page 30 of the book. This show thw lowest row of holes to be 1" from the base line,. but the plan s (which is drawn to scale gives no meaurement as to where the lowest line of the nine holes are, but in measuring it appears they are 5/8" to the center from the base line.

Which is correct or am I mis-reading something ? Or does it not matter if you follow the template drawing or the Plan.

The template is for marking out the stay positions on the boiler. The hornplates do not come down to the bottom of the boiler hence the holes are a different height.

Look at last paragraph page 35 for how to position the templat eon the hornplates so you get the holes where they are required
